In recent years, news of climate change, deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity loss, growing concerns of carbon emissions are commonplace in the local and international media. But how can we, as responsible citizens respond to such challenges?
At Green Quarter, we hold our values as an essential part of our organisation. It forms the backbone and guiding principle, where we are committed to and strive to reflect these values in the manner we conduct our business, communicate with clients, and also apply in the well-being of each individual.
In conjunction with World Sustainability Day, and in line with Green Quarter’s advocate for green sustainability beyond the workplace, the team at GQ had a meaningful “Faith Driven” sharing session with the children and teens in Trinity Homes, Petaling Jaya which took place in August. It was a stepping stone towards educating these young minds by inspiring them on the possible career options in sustainable engineering and architecture, creating an environmental awareness, and encouraging them towards a life long journey of impacting lives and spreading sustainability awareness.
As a testament of our commitment to be kind to nature, the forthcoming exercise is to nurture and safeguard our planet through tree planting initiatives, and to support the Greening Malaysia agenda through the 100 Million Tree-Planting Campaign. Through this “Be Genuine” green effort, we believe in breathing new life into degraded forest areas that have borne the brunt of environmental degradation. Our aim is to restore and preserve our natural environment, and to strengthen the sustainability of our ecosystem.
As we celebrate World Sustainability Day, let us all do our part as organisations and individuals around the world , to raise up more green champions with a mission to enrich the lives of people, leaving kind footprints on the earth and contributing to the welfare of society.
