A Peek into the First Green Car Showroom in Malaysia

We recently were awarded the Provisional GBI Gold Rating for a car showroom project that we have been working on. This rating was awarded based on the design assessment of the building, making it the first car showroom in Malaysia to be awarded a green building certification rating.

Some of the key design features of the building that allowed the building to be rated GBI Gold were based on the simulations that we conducted before the building was built. Daylight and energy simulations were conducted to ensure that sufficient daylight will be harvested into the building and the Building Energy Intensity (BEI) is kept to a minimum. The building design has approximately 60% coverage of net lettable area illuminated by natural daylight through large glass openings and skylights. Our simulations were able to optimise the performance require by the large glass openings such that the heat gain into the building is kept to a minimum. The BEI of the building performed 50% better than a standard MS1525 building.

The project is currently in it’s construction phase, and the following images show the building in the construction phase in comparison to the simulated building.

We look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months as the building construction is completed. Alternatively, do contact us and drop us an email if you would like to know how we can help you achieve your green building.
